Letters for Johnny Tremain
Dear Johnny,
That is one sad story I have just heard about you. I feel sorry for your hand and you must’ve been a very skilled silversmith but life is not fair. There are many places right now that need a boy to work for them but I don’t think that they might accept you because of you hand. So, my advice to you is to go look for a type of job where you won’t really need to use your hands a lot. Maybe a post in a ship would be a good idea. Or, you might as well join our newspaper and be the delivery boy. All you need to do is go around places on a horse and deliver the newspapers. I hope you accept my proffer.
Sincerely,
James
